Amy + Franklin’s Costa Rica Wedding
at La Mariposa Hotel in Manuel Antonio
“Pura Vida” is a phrase you’ll often see or hear in Costa Rica. It means “simple life” or “pure life” & that absolutely embodies what Manuel Antonio feels like. La Mariposa Hotel is located on the highest peak in Manuel Antonio, offering an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean & the most perfect backdrop for a wedding ceremony.
Amy & Franklin are big on adventure, so it’s no surprise that they wanted to go abroad for their nuptials. While in Costa Rica the couple (plus their closest friends & family) enjoyed deep sea fishing, horseback riding, relaxation by the pool, hiking in Manuel Antonio National Park, & a ride on a catamaran. Another cool thing about Costa Rica is its wildlife. While there I saw monkeys, lizards, a skunk, a capybara(!!), and my favorite – parrots flying in the wild. They also have an abundance of 3-toed sloths, which I will make a point to find next time I’m there.
New Years Day, which is when the wedding took place, was wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for better weather *or* a better sunset! Also, Amy + Frankie are troopers. They got up the very next day for a sunrise day-after session with me. Again, we couldn’t have asked for better light. I feel truly blessed to have been able to travel out of the country with such wonderful people! I loved getting to know, not only the couple better, but also their family + friends.
I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their wedding day & don’t forget to check out the awesome wedding video that Top Shelf Film Co put together. Full Creative team listed at the bottom.
